To help kick off 2014, The Today Show<\/em> looked at where in America you should go if you want to be \u201chealthy, wealthy and wise\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In their search for evaluating America\u2019s healthiest cities, the show\u2019s producers examined a number sources and ultimately settled on the ACSM American Fitness Index\u00ae. For the past three years Minneapolis\/St. Paul has earned the highest ranking.<\/p>\n

ACSM and the Fitness Index Advisory Board are honored to be considered as the best measure of a \u201chealthiest\u201d city. It\u2019s a testament to the research and planning that went into creating the Fitness Index and the work to update the rankings each year since 2008.<\/p>\n

For the segment on The Today Show<\/em>, journalist Craig Melvin spoke with runners and bikers using the city\u2019s expansive trails and paths, highlighted Minneapolis\u2019 robust park and recreation system, and featured a healthy food program called Urban Roots<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The segment also included a portion of an interview with Fitness Index Advisory Board Chair Dr. Walt Thompson<\/a>.<\/p>\n
